Law areas
In all legal systems and different countries often categorize and name legal subject in many ways. Enough common is the difference between:
- "Public law" topics, which relate closely to the state, including: constitutional, administrative and criminal law.
- "Private law" subjects, including: contract, tort, property.
- In civil law systems, contract and tort fall under a common law of obligations and trusts law is dealt with under legislative regimes or international conventions.
- International, constitutional and administrative law, criminal law, contract, tort, property law and trusts are regarded as the "traditional core subjects", though there are many further disciplines which might be of greater practical meaning.
There are some areas of the law that can correctly fall into more than one category.

Criminal Law refers to any of different bodies of rules in diverse jurisdictions.
